Wes Robert Wirth

Wes Robert Wirth, age 61 of Shelton, entered into eternal rest Saturday, May 30, 2009 at Griffin Hospital, Derby with his loving family by his side. Born in Stratford, December 31, 1947, he was the son of the late Frederick Sr. and Loretta Wirth and was a Shelton resident for 16 years. Wes was an employee for the town of Stratford for 25 years in the maintenance department. He was a member and president of the Men's Auxiliary of Post 9460 VFW of Stratford and also a member of the VFW 9460 Color Guard and a drummer for many years. He devoted numerous hours and energy to all veteran causes. His gifted voice was heard by many in the shows that were put together by the VFW Color Guard and was also a member of the National Association of Naval Veterans, Port 5 and Catholic War Vets. Wes loved spending time with family and friends and was a gifted and talented craftsman. His wife, family and friends will miss his caring and loving heart. Survivors include his beloved wife, JoAnn (Salvaggio) Wirth; one sister, Marilyn Amauro; one brother, Gene Wirth and wife, Maryanne; one sister-in-law, Lucille Piccirillo; and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother, Fred Wirth and wife, Jean; and two sisters, Gwendolyn Wirth and Wilma Paulisin.
